Where: Somewhere between San Francisco and Houston

I made it on the plane, at least the one to Houston. The layover was tight and is tight(er than a…) now. We have about a half hour to make it to the across the Houston airport. Funny, I say ‘we’ because the people sitting next to me are going to Brazil, too. For a wedding.

I’m afraid I’m gonna plump up like Marlon Brando if I’m not careful down here. Already I’ve done some annoying ‘travel eating’. So much waiting, what can you do but eat. Eat more.

Listening: The Joggers - With a Cape and a Cane

On computers: As some of you know, I’m going Apple when I get back from Brazil; something I said I would never do and have mocked people for, continuously, for years (I read and reread that sentence six or seven times. “I’m going Apple” sounds like some kind of conversion. All I’m doing is buying a computer. A machine. A tool.). But, I’ve changed my mind (I do that a lot) and am looking forward to the big switch. I’m getting an iMac because I hate laptops and love desks. Which brings me to another sea change. I’m transporting a laptop (the one I’m using now, a MacBook) to my friends in Belo Horizonte and boy-o is it sweet. I still love desks and I still am getting an iMac but I think I might pick up and older ThinkPad ($500 or $600 on ebay) and install Ubuntu on it and have a little guy to take around if I need or want to. Take it into the toilet to read Slate.com.

On: Vicoden (thanks, Amy, my knees aren’t sore) and whiskey. Does anyone know how bad Vicoden addiction really is (besides on House)? This stuff is lovely. Makes me want to have a unbearable injury so I can self medicate with a powerful narcotic to dull the pain. Sounds pretty sweet.

If you see Baca tell him thanks for that tear inspiring gibraltar this morning. I’ll miss all you guys. At least until I see my first fio dental.
